Happy New Year!
Here are six picks from this year's posts - chosen, like last year (see Best of 2010), for being fairly low-key but incredibly delicious. These are recipes I can't stop thinking about and that I'm sure I'll make in 2012 and the years to come.
Which would you choose to eat? If you go over to facebook, you can vote!
First, possibly my favourite dessert, served here with macerated summer fruits but incredible on its own = Tiramisu

Toasted Coconut, Brown Butter & Dark Chocolate Blondies

Apple & Quince Pie

Buttered Pecan & Butterscotch Ice Cream

Coconut Milk Chocolate Cake

Strawberry Cream Layer Cake
Happy New Year! Love this post!
ReplyDeleteI like all the recipes but my favourite would have to be Buttered Pecan and Butterscotch Ice Cream! PERFECT combo!
That pie photo is INCREDIBLE. WOW!
ReplyDeleteAnd that chocolate cake looks like the best cake ever made.
Happy New Year!!!!!!!!
Coconut Milk Chocolate Cake! Love the concept. off to see the recipe!
ReplyDeleteHey Emma,
ReplyDeleteI really admire your blog, especially the photographs. :)
I'm considering buying a stand mixer and just remembered that a while ago you won a KitchenAid. How are you finding it? And do you use anything different at the school? If so, which of the two would you recommend?
Thanks,
Tori
Daisy - Happy New Year! It's a great combination.
ReplyDeleteJolene - Glad you like them!
Anh - It's a wonderful recipe - quite unusual. Hope you like it :)
Anonymous - I do love my Kitchen Aid, it's a great tool. I grew up with Kenwoods which are also great and last forever (my mum's is 14 yrs old and I have my grandma's that is still going from the fifties!). We use professional KAs at Cordon Bleu. All are good really - I don't know what I would buy if I have to choose now to be honest. KAs do look very attractive. Sorry I can't be more helpful!
Thanks for your help. Most people I've spoken to haven't been able to decide between the Kenwood Chef and the KitchenAid either, so I might just go off looks.
ReplyDeleteThanks again,
Tori
